After near-death (NDE) and out-of-body (OBE) experiences following a car wreck in 2000, all fear of death left me. What replaced it was an intrinsic understanding and connection to the spirit world.
Imagine being in a hotel room that shares a door with the adjacent room. For me, that door is almost always swung open. There is no “there” or other plane of existence. It’s all right here- like shadows moving across the land, intermixing with sunlight.
In alignment with those in my ancestry who did similar work, I refer to it as “bridge-work” or “mediumship”. The veil is translucent for me, but especially so during the dark half of the year in alignment with Nature.
Mediumship allows me to feel and channel the energies of those (human and animal) that are no longer constrained by the limitations of a physical body. I am not psychic- nor would I want to be! This is simply tapping into what is already here and around us, and I let it move through me to give it a voice.
Being with those who are transitioning from their physical bodies has always been a calling of mine since childhood. I offer gentle presence and end-of-life spiritual care for those embarking on this part of their journey (and/or their loved ones.) This could be a quiet space to share and grieve, to get really angry or express shame and regret, to learn about how the “other side” feels, or to meditate together. Or perhaps it could be a space to grieve hard in a primal way. My practice is rooted in the foundational spiritual qualities of grace, forgiveness, and unconditional Love and compassion while diving into the full human experience.
